Shortbread Cookies

1 cup cornstarch (https://amzn.to/3WnaYDe)
1 cup icing sugar (https://amzn.to/4cUQSpu)
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups butter, softened*
Mix together cornstarch, icing sugar, and flour. Blend in butter until soft, smooth dough forms. Shape into balls and place on a greased cookie sheet (https://amzn.to/3LtQr9P). Flatten with a fork or press down and leave a thumbprint to place a half maraschino cherry in.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes until edges are slightly browned.
This recipe makes about 24 good sized cookies. It can be halved if only a few cookies are needed.
*I use margarine in these cookies and they still taste great, They are just not quite so crumbly and soft.
