Cornbread

3/4 cup cornmeal (https://amzn.to/45h0qbG) *

1 1/4 cup milk

1/2 tbsp garlic paste

1 cup flour

1/3 cup sugar

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 egg

1/4 cup vegetable oil


Mix together cornmeal. milk, and garlic paste. Let sit while getting the rest ready.

Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour oil into measuring cup. Add egg and mix together. Add oil mixture to the cornmeal. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients mixing only until combined. Pour into greased loaf pan (https://amzn.to/3VpN3CD).

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.


If you don't feel like cooking one night, take a container of frozen soup out of the freezer, heat it up and serve the cornbread on the side. Dinner done in 30 minutes or so!!! You can omit the garlic paste from the cornbread for a sweeter loaf.
