Bacon Hot Dog Mac and Cheese

8 hot dogs

2 cups macaroni noodles (cooked)

1 package cooked bacon

1/2 onion

1/2 cup flour

1 tsp garlic powder (https://amzn.to/3BUg7LH)

1 1/2 tsp mustard powder (https://amzn.to/40ErZuV)

1 tsp pepper (https://amzn.to/4j4jSPc)

3 cups milk

3 cups shredded cheese

green onion (optional)

Cook the bacon until crisp. (I place mine on a cookie sheet (https://amzn.to/4hbqmKl) in the oven for about 20 minutes)

Cook the macaroni until tender. Set aside.

Melt the butter in a large frying pan (https://amzn.to/423XCz0) along with a tablespoon of bacon fat. Add the onion and cook until translucent. Lower heat to medium and add the flour and spices. Stir until combined and cook for about a minute longer. Slowly whisk in the milk and let boil over low for about 5 minutes until thickened. Turn off the heat and add the cheese stirring until melted.

Place the cooked macaroni into a large casserole dish (https://amzn.to/4fW5UfE).

Mix the crumbled bacon and cut up hot dogs into the macaroni then pour the cheese sauce over top and blend. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes to warm through.

You can top it with additional shredded cheese before placing in the oven if desired.
